The Changing of all of our Lives

Peter and Margret Mululu are a very special part of my heart. Their daughter, Anita, captured my heart from the first time I was in Uganda. I was even called Anita’s Muzungu as our team walked through the village. They are also very special to me because my sister, Melissa, and her family are their sponsors. Melissa carefully hand wrapped gifts from her family to the Mululu family. With each gift she included a special card addressed to each person in the Mululu family.

Notice Margret’s beautiful smile as she anticipates her gift of love.

In Uganda, as a sign of respect and thanksgiving, whenever people are overjoyed or just grateful they will bow on their knees. What a precious posture. The necklace Margret is wearing is the gift from Melissa and her family. She has probably never owned anything this nice in all of her life. The necklace cost Melissa less than $5.

Scott, Melissa’s husband, sent Peter one of his favorite shirts. I made sure Peter knew this. He was overjoyed.
